Walking through Tokyo today with the traces of Edo — Kiyosumi Shirakawa and Monzen-Nakacho Local Walk
About the Plan
Why not walk through Tokyo's downtown Fukagawa with a local guide who lives there?
This private plan involves a leisurely 2 hours and 30 minutes walk through a city from Kiyosumi Shirakawa to Monzen-Nakamachi, where history and culture dating back to the Edo period meet with everyday life in modern Tokyo.
We will introduce you to the charms of Tokyo that are a little different from the usual tourist spots, such as traditional alleys, temples and shrines, and the cafe culture that has become popular in recent years.
⚫︎ Main Sightseeing Spots
Kiyosumi Shirakawa Area: Explore the streetscape where old buildings coexist with new cafe culture.
Fukagawa's Streetscape: Explore the alleys and residential areas and discover the history of Edo and current life.
Tomioka Hachiman Shrine: We will guide you through Shinto culture and Fukagawa festivals that have been held since the Edo period.
Fukagawa Fudodo: Experience Buddhist culture while enjoying the unique atmosphere of Monzencho.
-It is recommended for those interested in history and culture, as well as those who want to learn more about Tokyo than just tourist destinations, and for those with children.
-We can adjust some of the content of your walk to suit your interests and pace.
⚫︎ Optional Choices
- If you wish, we can also include visits to Kiyosumi Garden and Fukagawa Edo Museum, as well as a break at a local cafe.
- Adding options may result in longer travel times and additional charges. Admission fees, admission fees, and food and beverage fees for the facility will be borne separately by the customer.
